Don't think it would tank... the main reason being Blu-Ray is still going thru it's evolutionary phase now that the format war between HD-DVD is over.
You can say that it is only now that Blu-Ray would be starting to pick-up, especially now other movie outfits and audio/video equipments makers are going to put their support in this format.
That is the reason why there are'nt enough titles to choose from ( because some companies want to support this and that... ), but hopef...
About a month and a few more days to go... Hhhmmm GranTurismo 5: Prologue, Mmmmm.
Expect to have some minor vibration or "rumble" disappointment issues in a few games.
You will see and feel it once you'ved downloaded vibration patch updates and set DualShock3 to "high".
In some games - vibration is barely noticeable, while some are pretty good.
But at least still thankful Sony listened and implemented back "rumble" feature.
I said { weather-physics } in the "Real" GranTurismo 5 which is coming-out probably early next 2009 for worldwide release, and not GranTurismo 5: Prologue ninkampoof...
What a bloody idiot, sure rain will create traction problems - it's wet = slippery conditions.
Do you really want to just drive in the dry all the time? Is that all you want to experience and handle in the virtual racetracks? Don't you want a variety of differing weather situations to spice-up y...
Already heard a few positive and disturbing comments on the tellie here in Sydney...
Time will surely test if this would be any good for gamers' and a lot of concerned families.
Do agree banning certain videogames is not correct.
Once Blu-Ray gets to lthe level of standard DVD affordability, things will surely change.
You have to see the difference in resolution between the old ( DVD ) and new ( Blu-Ray ) format, especially on a Full-HD screen to tell and judge for yourself the value and worth of this new "evolutionary" product.
Surely it's the very first Silent Hill that was the scariest, and I totally agree on Fatal Frame as well.
No contest - Equal for me.
A good storyline and the { *less } weapon used/available the more scarier and vulnerable it feels when playing this awesome title.
Better buy a pre-owned or any bargain game title that you'ed enjoy playing instead of wasting your precious 50 bucks on this.
You will regret it later.
This game is going to attract a lot of attention.
Looks very special and unique.
Yes, guess we'll have to endure by not having damage-mode with the Prologue Series.
But will be addressed in the "Real" GranTurismo 5.
The big surprise though will be is if Sony/Polyphony does confirm ( in print/media/internet ) the addition of weather-physics for the "Real" GranTurismo 5....
Just realised if MS would finally go Blu-Ray with the 360 how will it affect all their games which are all in HD-DVD format?
They said they would provide support ( upgrades/updates? ), but for how long?
Will this time-frame of support be provided up till the release of a new XBox console?
And then there's another question for those off-line gamers', those who still play not using the XBox 360's on-line capabilities? How will they get their support?
...
If you really want to push sex and it's bounderies in gaming - Do a "proper" remake of the Drunna series ( by Paolo E. Serpieri ) which was released a few years back only for PC.
Don't own the game and only seen some grainy trailer of the 'net. But every one whose played the game says it was utter rubbish. Do have a few of his books and HeavyMetal comics.
Now if they can just write a good storyline ( in the same vein possibly as the Silent Hill game - which they ...
Once this tests' show a good future, will it be the end of all disc-based formats? Whether it be in music - ( CD's ) and videos - ( Blu-Ray, DVD and the like... ).
Everything will now be available for super-fast download.
Those who are going to benefit most from these are the makers of hard disc drives ( HDD ).
Not bothered at all.
There are other "new" game titles from the PS3 library, which is now obviously getting a bit of traction.
Was expecting it to be released around first half of 2009.
*** My real hope is for Sony/Polyphony and father of GT Kazunori Yamauchi-san to finally confirm the addition of { weather-physics } besides damage-mode capability that we all know about now.
Good decision, think of the backlash and abuse they might cop in the long run.
Bad luck to all those who bought theirs' recently.
Now it's time to go the { Blu } way for the mighty Greenbox.
Yes, very unique indeed. Love the morphing ability feature.
Hope in-game is as brutal and fast-paced as it looks on the trailers.
Might even make it as a full lenght movie feature - who knows?
Totally understandable for a still "rookie" games developer and with some time constraints involved to make a few short-cuts here and there.
Especially concerning the 3 to 4 enemy appearances and wardrobe differentiation, which when playing the game seems, they all tend to look the same for every level.
Also goes for our heroes as well.
But really a very minor complaint.
What you really need to look at is how truly addictive and enjoyable it ...
Heard there was an upgrade ( of something ) being produced for HD-DVD to be able to convert and read Blu-Ray.
So there might still be a chance...
But it would be best not to take any risks' as Blu-Ray already got the trophy.
No.8 ( Prototype ) looks like an Assassins Creed gone into horror-mode then goes to New York city with some really cool physical morphing abilities.
No. 6 ( LittleBigPlanet ) marriage of Japanese and Western looks/ideas with an original/unique/funny theme.
This will be the games I'm going to wait for more news of.
A very good lists'.
Prologue will not have damage-mode and this news has been circulated now for ages if you still don't know ( she00win99 ).
But would surely make it on the "Real" GranTurismo 5, which is expected to be released early to mid 2009. Japan would get theirs earlier.
There are rumors/speculations though which are still to be confirmed in print/media/internet about a possible addition of { weather physics - ala PGR4 } for the "Real" GranTurismo 5.
